It took a little work, but I made these videos for my bridesmaids, it was fun because they were all pretty far away from me and each other.

This is one of the bridesmaids

and the flower girl

They loved it and the flower girl and ring bearer will get to see it when they are older… I made it in windows movie maker.

I am only a Bridesmaid or Best Man in one wedding, she didn’t do anything special to ask us but when we bought our dresses we did go back to her house for a nice little lunch.

When I asked mine I mailed them cards inviting them over for lunch. We had a big lunch, mimosas, hung out. It was supposed to be nice but everyone had all this crazy personal shit going on- moms having surgery, FIs in hospital, breakups, migraines- I planned it in advance but at the time kind of felt bad being like “oo my wedding!” when everyone was so upset about stuff – not a single one of five girls was happy that day lol

I got asked in a Facebook message… haha. Oh well, I was super excited anyway!

I ended up asking my BMs by handwriting a card with the top 5 reasons why they should be my Bridesmaid or Best Man. I made it funny and cute and tailored it to each girl and also gave them the “Bridesmaids” DVD.

Nope – they called me on the phone and asked.  Simple, easy and effective.  🙂

I made them candles.  Two were local, two had to be shipped.  All were well-received 🙂

I’ve never been a Bridesmaid or Best Man or Maid/Matron of Honor but here’s what I’m doing:

Maid/Matron of Honor – I made a DVD slideshow/movie filled with pictures and videos from our 12 years of friendship, with “friendship” songs playing in the background.  She cried!

BMs – I photoshopped everyone’s faces onto the “Bridesmaids” movie poster and I’m going to give it to them in a frame when we all go out to eat.  It’s hilarious because I chose pictures of us all making funny faces.  I also got myself, my BMs, and my Maid/Matron of Honor shirts that say “Bride 2012”, “Bridesmaid 2012” or “Maid of Honor 2012”.

I’ve been in 3 weddings:

– Maid/Matron of Honor for my sister. She asked verbally in person.

– Bridesmaid for a friend. She gave me a picture frame with a piece of paper inside saying “Will you be one of my bridemaids?” The frame was from Things Remembered and was engraved with “Mr. & Mrs. Friend – 8/7/2010”. I was supposed to put a photo from the wedding in it. I haven’t quite gotten to that part yet.

– Bridesmaid for another friend. She sent me a card (she lives far) with a very nice note and asked me at the end of the message. I still have it. I thought it was very sweet of her.
