I would suggest visiting stores and viewing the men’s bands they have. My designer’s bands came in 6mm or 8mm, we chose the latter. My husband is 6′ with long fingers.

Honestly, I would have him try in rings of different mm. Some guys want a thin band because they don’t like the feeling of a chunky ring-others like thick rings.

Were custom designing my FIs ring, and he wants 9mm-anything less than 8mm felt girly to him and he wanted a manly ring. For your guy, I’d go with 7mm or 8mm. My guy has beefy/muscular hands, and any thing less than 6 looked really silly.

6-8 is standard typically. My FIs band is 8mm.

I would suggest 6mm or over if he has standard size hands. My FI’s hands are very slim so we went for 5mm but I don’t think 6mm would have been a bad choice either. Maybe 7 or 8 if your man has thicker fingers?

My fiance is a big guy. 6’6″ with size 14 ring finger. His ring is 8mm and it really suits his hand. So I would say, it depends on your fiance’s hands more than his stature.

@Djacks88:  Just saw you said he wears a 13. That’s pretty big. Depending how long his fingers are, I would say 8 mm. Why don’t you go to a department store and try something that width on?
