I posted a picture earlier this week of this dress. Didn’t want to spend a fortune on a dress and I found this online at Macy’s for $229. First try, first dress! Nonetheless, I think it’s a keeper. Of course, I need to get shapewear and yada yada…. However, the sash it came with is really cheap. Do I stick with the same width or get a thicker one?
I’m only 5’1, so I’m weary of the thickness…? Should I stick with the ivory color or try a different color?
Thanks for any input!

What does the dress look like without the sash? I think it’s a gorgeous gown that doesn’t need anything (for an amazing steal!!!!).
If you really want a sash, I would go with a thin, all beaded sash to add some more sparkle.
I personally like the simplicity of the gown.

Without the belt but it has little loops on the side for a belt but those can easily be cut off… But I think it needs a sash.

The width of the sash is nice however the width of the design is too small. I feel like it should cover at least 2/3 of the front of the dress. It would also be nicer if it got wider towards the ends. the wider ends would create a nice bow that would balance out the backside of the gown too.

I have that dress in a different color and I’m only 5’2″!! I think it looks best with a sash that’s just a little bit thicker than the one it came with. I’d just go to the craft store and look for a plain satin ribbon that’s maybe 1 1/2″ in the same ivory color. You could also look on etsy or at david’s bridal for one with some better quality embelishment. Double faced satin ribbon tends to have a better structure/feel to it than the standard single faced. Good luck finding one- that dress is soo comfortable and flattering!
