This is how we told our parents…

and our friends…(they were cupcakes) It might be hard to read – it says..

“Pink or blue, what will it be? Wait a few months and we will see! So send as much love and prayers as you can, and look forward to April 2010”

The cupcakes are super super cute!

For our parents, unfortunately, it will be via Facetime. We live far away from both sets of family. ๐Ÿ™ But I’m thinking of sending a package with something with a note that saids facetime us first then have them open the package “in front” of us.

hehe. For friends I thought about putting together a funny coupon book of “you may babysit me” “you may change my diaper” hehe.

We’re waiting until our first triemester is over to tell ANYONE. So for both sets of our parents we’re waiting until their birthdays (March– all of them) and inside the birthday card, we’ll include an ultrasound picture ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m so excited!

We just told both sets of parents over the phone.  Didn’t make a big production out of it.  As for cute ways to tell friends, at least with ours it would just be a waste of money.  So much easier to tell them as we see them in person when it gets to that point.

I think the ideas are super cute, but I just don’t get the point.

i’m not anywhere close to being pregnant anytime soon, but i think doing it in a special way is adorable.

i fear i’m so close to my family, that i wont be able to keep it a secret though!

@Miss Sapphire: I totally agree! I would probably just tell my friends… I would be really confused if a friend bought something to tell me.

My Future Sister-In-Law did come up with a cute way to tell her family, though. It was her dad’s (my FFIL’s) birthday and the whole family was there and the last present she gave him was a baby blanket. It took everyone a minute to figure it out and then there was a lot of congratulating to follow.

We got bibs made on etsy that said “I love Grandma and Grandpa _______” for both sides. They were very excited!

@bananarama:  Totally.  I think a lot of us fail to realize that our pregnancy isn’t the biggest thing in our friend’s lives.  I know if one of my super close friends sent me a cute little gift to announce she was pregnant I would be totally confused.

I can’t think of anything for the parents and in laws at this time but I did some searching and found a cute pregnancy announcement to use.

We live on the other side of the country from our family and friends and this is just perfect.

First came love,
then came marriage,
now comes baby in the baby carriage!
