I am “glitter-izing” my votive cups for my wedding. I am painting them with a glitter paint. I tried adhesive and actual glitter, but the glitter would scatter (like glitter does LOL). I also tried the spray glitter. I found this worked best and gave the most uniform look.

This one was my test subject LOL The ones I am using for the ceremony I have painted the rim solid gold with the glitter gold sides. I like the way they look better with the rim painted.

Just a thought 🙂 Let us know how they turn out!

I did something like this for my sister’s baby shower. I took glass cups, coated them in mod podge, dipped them in glitter, then let them dry. I put about two more coats of mod podge on them (I didn’t repeat the glitter step as it wasn’t necessary) and then covered them with a spray adhesive which made them dishwasher safe. Good luck!

They sell glitter spray paint at Home Depot and it’s cake to use. I’ve been doing glitter vases too.

I’m also recommending a glitter spray paint or spray glitter. I spray painted wine bottles to use as decoration. With the spray paint it will be more even and less likely for crazy amounts of glitter falling off everywhere.

sunflowerscurls:  Not at all. I would do 1 coat, then wait 15 mins and do another. They were completely dry after about an hour.
