I have always secretly wanted to perform a choreographed dance to a “fun” song as our first dance, like the TLC show “Rock the Reception”. It is more befitting of our relationship… we are definitely not the sentimental type but more the loud joking type. So if you could “Rock the Reception” what song would you chose?

I LOVE this post….we have totally talked about doing something like this for our first dance. No clue which song we’d use…maybe “Faith” by George Michael or “You Sexy Thing” by Hot Chocolate…I know that our groomsmen would be hilarious 🙂

What about Gold Digger by Kanye West. We too are going to do something like this, but it is me and my groomsman doing the surprise dance for my bride to be. At the end of our first dance, I will spin and dip her, then the lights go out, and the music stops, like a power outage feel. Then we will have the Boyz Ii Men countdown from their cool high harmony album hit (10 down to 1), the lights come back on and we do a routing to motownfilly and a few other old school songs. It will bring the house down, so much fun.

I second Miss Cherry Limeade whole heartedly lol!! Please tape and post and link us to it lol!
I’ll have to think about what I would do…hhmm
Me and my bridesmaid went and saw Step Up 2 when it came out and we joke about battling and dance parties so I think we would probably do something like that lol!
But my fiance…he would never get up there and do any sort of crazy dance lol.

@ytlitng: I LOVE it! and Boys II Men!! I ditto the rest of the hive in our request to see video after the wedding!!
I have finally convinced my finance to do it and we picked a song this week. I don’t want to give too much away because it is going to be a complete suprise to all our family and guests. I think we will be enlisting a few members of the bridal party to help out in the dance. I’m not getting married until next May but I will definitely post video of our dance on my blog: theroadtomatrimony.blogspot.com
