- Wedding: October 2014
Bees, I am starting to panic.
Now that my FSIL’s wedding is over (she got married last weekend) I can finally focus on my own.
My Fiance and I are getting married next month in Maui, just the 2 of us. Then the following weekend (a couple of days after we get home) we are having a reception with about 125-150 people (RSVP date hasn’t passed yet). Yes, our guests do know that they are just attending the reception and will not be witnessing us say our vows. We aren’t having a bridal party or doing the garter toss, but we will have a first dance and parent/child dances.
I bought a fairly simple dress and I am trying to figure out what accessories to wear. My “vision” so to speak it to wear my hair in a loose/messy updo with either a plumeria crown or some plumerias/other tropical flowers on one side. I plan on wearing this same dress to my reception but will probably accessorize it a bit fancier so I will have 2 different looks – one for the beach ceremony and one for the reception party. The dress is a little longer on me than shown on the model.
So my thoughts are:
1. I am thinking no necklace. Agree?
2. If I am having a fancy hair do, go simple on the earings.
3. My grandmother gave me a classic pearl bracelet. I would like to wear it as my “something old”. Is it too simple given the dress?
Any other suggestions are appeciated as I am kind of lost. I thought getting a simple dress would give me a lot of choices but I feel kind of overwhelmed.
Thanks in advance.
