I think it definitely depends on your style. πŸ™‚  But photos that I have seen that make me say “OMG I LOVE THAT” for outdoor weddings are indeed the lights, candles, flowers, drinks in a canoe or in big tubs and games!!

I love the idea of the large games.  Like over sized Tic Tac Toe or Connect 4.  You can make a lot of those also. πŸ™‚

I will say that about 3 years ago, my best friend did an outdoor wedding at a campground in the middle of no where. In the end it was absolutely stunning!!! However… the process to get there was tough in the beginning.  She couldn’t understand that a lot of wedding photos that you see are staged.
That if you are having that outdoor wedding, you are going to need extension cords and ways to hang lights.  I think that as long as you understand that, you are golden!!! πŸ™‚

My Fiance (boyfriend at the time) was climbing trees and hanging lights.  It was one of the best parts of the weekend. πŸ™‚

But I do LOVE the look of these outdoor weddings! πŸ™‚

Happy Planning!!

I’m not a fan of the rustic look.

I do think white or single-colored fairy lights in any trees or shrubbery is lovely, if the celebration continues past twlight.

I also like the way it looks to have a carpet runner laid down for the aisle.

@queenbre:  Mostly we let the scenery speak for itself. We did somewhat eclectic centerpieces in various jars that we had found. I had plans for babies breath and raffia, but I totally forgot the day of. Our ceremony had a cliffs and mountain backdrop, so it really was unnecessary to have anything else. Our reception had the centerpieces and white Christmas lights and that’s about it. Simple, inexpensive and relatively easy to clean up

@queenbre:  I like the idea of an English garden party vibe. I would use decorated colanders for the flower centerpieces, ceramic candle holders, scattered outdoor rugs, white tablecloths and napkins:

@queenbre:  You’re very welcome! I’d use an oasis; the flowers would be arranged in a very full and lush manner, something like this (not necessarily the colors, just to give an idea):

I had a backyard wedding of under 40 people. We did a clear tent with string lighting, two long tables with ivory linens / greenery runners / gold cutlery. We also did an outdoor bar / pie table / guestbook table (not pictured). If I had done it in a larger outdoor space, I would have loved lawn games and a fire pit.
