how would you pronounce the French word corolle?
I see there is a popular brand of doll by the same name I just came across it in writing tonight and it seemed like it would be a really pretty name.

Cuh-roll with the emphasis on “roll”. Not a fan though; everyone would be confused that it’s Carol…

like the car corolla only with an “e” at the end.
ETA-hah sorry MrsBuesleBee beat me to it.

Is there an accent on the e? If so, it’s “Cor-ole-eh” if not, it’s “Cor-ole.”

I’m French, so I would say it “coh-rolle” (if I were to say it as an english person “co-role”)… To me it sounds like an unfinished name.
I like the name Coralie which is kind of similar.
<br />Corolle defines something nice (part of a flower, the petal-ly bit) and it looks nice in the doll’s brand logo, but I don’t think its a very pretty word in itself. Sorry!

Unless there’s an accent on the e you never do the “ay” at the end like islandchloe said it’d be coh-rolle. The first o is open the second is a closed o sound 🙂 The whole “ehh” hting at the end without accent is an italian thing.

Like the car Corola but without the “a’ at the end. Wouldn’t make for myy favorite name.

justjade: Either coral like the color or like PPs said like Toyota Corolla without the “ah” sound
