It’s pronounced like “shay,” so if you are wanting a different pronunciation, I would go with a different spelling.

I voted shee-uh becuase thats what I think when I look at it.  I always thought shea butter was pronounced “shee”… and then when someone mentioned the street I realised there was an “o’shea” near us that I pronounced correctly… Hmm..

Since you want a different pronunciation:
Shia makes me think of Shia La Boef and I would say it Shy-ah
    How about Sheya?

I know a Shay (boy) and a Chay (girl). Both pronounced the same. I pronounce Shea ‘Shay’. It’s Irish, ‘Shay’ is correct.

That is my cousin’s name. Everyone pronounces it Shay and as far as I know, she has never had to correct anyone. It’s fairly common.

I definitely pronounce Shea as “Shay” and I would pronounce Shia as “Shy-Ah” as a PP said.

    I’d pronounce it shay.

If you want Shee-ah you could spell it Sheia so people assume it’s line Sheila but no L

AlexisB:  I voted Shay, but what I found interesting is that you have Leah pronounced Lay-uh rather than Lee-uh, which is what I’m used to.

I’ve only known one Shea and he pronounced it Shay, so that’s what I’ve gone off my whole life. I love the name.
