Care-ee, like Carrie. I had a good friend in middle school named Kari and that’s how it was pronounced.

It’s Kari  prounounce  like car if my name was Prounounce like Carrie. It would be spelled Carrie. Yes people mispronounced my name all the time.  But I always correct them. Kari is a beautiful name and it’s unique just like me.

Kari is my name prounounce  Car-re. If It was prounounce like Carrie it would of be spelled  Carrie  or Keri.  It’s a different name. I always have to correct people.  It’s frustrating. Kari is a unique  name just like me.

galloway111 :  Car-i like broom broom car with an ‘ih’ on the end. I think your kid will have a tough time with that one.

galloway111 :  it’s actually like Caree. I gave my daughter that name. That’s it’s original pronunciation. It’s even pronounced that way in other countries/languages. But like with any name it only takes one famous person to change the way it’s pronounced. Lol. My son’s name is Nolan. If he decided to pronounce it “New-LAN” and became famous, I guarantee you that someone out there would name their kid Nolan and pronounce it the way he did. That’s what people do. They follow. So u -could really pronounce it any way u want and someone will accept it. Ps. I know this thread is old. Lol.

Wow, I’m shocked! I always thought that Kari is “car-ee” and Keri is “Care-ree”. I’ve always been hypersensitive to that since my name is Kerri.  Since there seems to be two widely accepted ways, I’d say have the name and pronounce is “car-ee” if that’s what you want. On occasion, she may have to correct someone’s pronoucation but that’s life. I went through a lifetime of seeing Kerri spelled all sorts of ways.

Sorry, didn’t realize this was old and don’t see a delete button 🙁
