So my middle name is Madeline.  Pronounced mad-uh-lyn and it is very often mispronounced as mad-uh-line.  I don’t really mind as I prefer the spelling.  My first name is also mispronounced all the time with the boy version of my name (Gabrielle (gab-rie-elle, but people say Gabriel (gabe-ri-ul))

Choose the spelling you like best and people will mispronounce probably no matter what.

I honestly would go with the French way. Madeleine.

Going just by pronunciation, Madelyn. If she wants the -linn sound then I would avoid Madeline. Madeleine is just confusing to me.

It is the same with Caroline and Carolyn. If you want it pronounced Lynn at the end then it would be better to spell it that way.

Coming from someone with a name that’s pretty obviously said one way- no matter how you spell it people will find a way to say it other than how you want them to.

newbeebuzz :  Madeleine (prn Mad-uh-lyn) is the traditional French spelling, not Madeline which I’d prn Mad-uh-line.

    I prefer Madeleine.

Traditionally it’s Madeleine. The others are modifications of the original. I much prefer Madeleine over the other options.

If you really, really want a name that is directly analogous to English pronunciation, avoid Madalin – unfortunately that looks like a spelling mistake to me.

newbeebuzz :  Ma-duh-lin I’d spell Madelyn. Madeline for me is the more classic spelling and a beautiful name but people may be tempted to pronounce it Ma-duh-line

    Madeleine.

I would look at “Madelyn” and think they had precious parents.
