happenstance:  What about some winter themed berries like Holly berries? Or pine cones? Silver branches? Pine leaves/branches?

Love playdohpants’s pinterest idea! Maybe mix in some battery operated christmas lights with the baubles.

If you want a splash of red what about cardinals? Maybe some fluffy fake snow with pinecones and cardinals? (I LOVE winter decor haha!)

Oh when I make fake snow at home I use epsom salt and white glitter. It gives it that shimmer that snow has in the sun 🙂

happenstance:  I think it depends on how much natural light there is in your venue…. plus what time of day. What time is sunset on the day? I know somedays in the winter the sun goes down at like 4pm or it’s just so ‘dreary’ that candles look nice anytime! But… if the sun is shining and there’s lots of light in your venue then they might not really ‘light’ anything.

happenstance:  Haha I meant the birds! I didn’t realize there was a cardinal flower.

happenstance:  I would use some sort of cotton fluff with sparkles in the cages. But if it’s in a vase I use epsom salts and white glitter. That one looks pretty realistic! I think anything powdery would fall out of the cages and make a mess though!

You could also use shredded coconut on edible stuff to look like snow!

happenstance:  I would be a bit more subtle and use babies breath instead of fake snow.  You can buy the babies breath this spring and summer at the farmers markets when it is inexpensive and store it until your wedding.
