How would you style this dress?

Congratulations!!

Some earrings and perhaps a bracelet (one that won’t catch on the dress) are all you would need. I love a bold shoe but in this instance I’d stick with a neutral to keep the focus on your face. How do you plan to wear your hair? A beautiful comb may be enough.

Oh this is so beautiful, i love it!

I would get either a floral cape or floral veil. Like this https://www.etsy.com/listing/796010701/flower-wedding-cape-floral-cape-secret

I had a cape at my wedding and i loved it.

I like the idea of a headpiece. You could lean into the flowers even more and do a floral or greenery crown. Or you could get some sort of cool tall headpiece. Your dress is artsy and really cool and i think you could look really cool with an interesting headpiece.

As your dress is quite detailed with colour I would keep accessories aimed towards a neutral pallette.

I actually think a cream birdcage veil would go nicely with this particular gown and the same shade for the shoes. I would also go soft with some pearl studs. You don’t want a lot of factors competing with each other for attention rather than complementing the bride. Just my 2c.

@bluejellyfish:  The dress is gorgeous. I would let it, and you, be the focus and the star of the show. I’d choose a solid color shoe that matches a color in the dress. I wouldn’t wear a necklace, due to the high, decorative neckline. I would go with gold or beaded dangly earrings and your hair half up, fully up, or braided. I wouldn’t wear a veil or cape that has a design, because you don’t want it competing with the dress. If you want a veil, I’d go with champagne or ivory, and simple, and I wouldn’t get a long one.

Oh my gosh, that dress is gorgeous!!!  I would probably style that with metallic heels (sandals or even d’orsay pumps).  As far as a veil, it might be hard to match because its not a white dress.  In keeping with the more bohemian/artsy look of the dress, a metallic head piece (BHLDN has tons), a floral headpiece/crown, or if you are more trendy, a silk knotted headband or alice band would go very nicely.

Can’t wait to see what you choose!  Love that its a dress that isn’t a traditional wedding dress but still reads as bridal.

What a beautiful dress. I saw a while back, that brand had some gorgeous pink dresses that were so pretty and unusual (not as intricate as this) and if I’d had unlimited money I’d hace got them for my bridesmaids!

I think I would get some kind of intricate braided up do, or possibly flowers either pinned in or in a flower crown.

i would wear neutral sandals similar to the model. Maybe a warm cream or a nude, or pick out a colour from the embroidery. Gold or rose gold would look lovely too.

i also think a simple delicate chain necklace, simple stud earrings and a gold bangle would look stunning. I think much more would overwhelm the dress.

i love the way you talk about your dress by the way! The best fashion males you feel that way, I think, and is the hardest to let go when it wears out!

@bluejellyfish:

That is a very pretty and distinctive dress. I have to respectfully disagree with the idea of a cape, too busy and layered with those sleeves . I don’t think a veil would work well for the same reason. If ever a dress called for a floral crown and bouquet and nothing else , that is the one. Perhaps a pearl or metallic floral headpiece, but a floral crown would be my first choice .

Sandals, of the delicate strappy sort , or even ballet flats .

I share your enthusiasm for the dress.  You and I might be similar as that look is very ” me” too.  I think the colouring of the dress lends itself to rose gold accessories.  I’d be looking for some gorgeous rose gold pumps and rose gold earrings.  Neutral shoes would work well too.  I think champagne roses in your bouquet with accents (filler flowers) in blue or plum tones ( perhaps Geraldton wax flowers) would be gorgeous.  A bouquet featuring blue cornflowers would be beautiful too. A flower crown would be divine but ask your florist to do a fairly light Flower crown, nothing too bulky that might compete with the dress embroidery.

Would love to see a picture of you in your dress.  Please post one after your wedding day so we can swoon at the gorgeousness of it all 🙂
