My wedding is officially 8 days away! Woo! I am trying to figure out tips for everyone before the big day.
I am at a bit of a loss how to tip my day-of-coordinator and potentially the owner of the wedding planning company. Here is the situation…
When we first hired our DOC, she had just started her wedding planning business and was the only employee of her company. Despite being a DAY OF coordinator, she has literally been my savior through this whole wedding planning process. She has been answering questions almost weekly for me for the past 14 months.
A few months after we hired her, she told us she hired her first employee! Another girl with a lot of experience in wedding planning. Our original DOC/owner of the company asked if we would mind if the new girl could take over on the day of our wedding. We had no problem with this! For the past few months now, this new DOC coordinator has been in contact with all of our vendors for us, has been answering all of my silly questions, and will obviously be with us on the day of the wedding. Nonetheless, the owner (original DOC) has still remained extremely active with helping me through the whole wedding planning process and filling in gaps since she has been helping with our wedding since the beginning.
So my question is this… I know I have to tip the DOC who will be there on the day of the wedding. BUT because the owner/original DOC has been SO helpful for the past 14 months, I feel like I should tip her something as well. Is that weird? Will our DOC be offended that we are tipping her boss as well? Also, what would be appropriate to tip in this situation for both ladies?
