We aren’t sending Save the Date cards because all of our Out of Town guests are very close family and thus already know they are coming, etc. and it was a good way to save money. We are sending out our invitations at the end of March for May 26th wedding. So my question is: should I send a letter before or after sending the invitations to let guests know about our room block?

I would definitely communicate with them ahead of mailing out your invitations for a wedding on Memorial Day weekend. Send a quick note or an email.

I would include an insert card in your invitations.
If you have a block set up, it shouldn’t matter that your wedding is a holiday weekend. Those rooms will be being held for your guests.

If they’re all close relatives, word of mouth might be easy enough.
