baileyjosephine:  The HSG test is less than an hour. I was able to do that then go to work no problem. I did have some cramping that day and maybe the next as well.  The IUI is also a short procedure, it just takes time to process the semen in between so it is typically a 2 hour block with a lot of waiting in the middle. I’ve only had monitored Clomid and IUI cycles, but I do not think having an HSG and an IUI in the same cycle is a lot at all. HSG needs to be done prior to CD12 or so. Without monitoring how will you know when to do/schedule the IUI? Clomid is just a pill (or 2 depending on dosage) you take once a day for 5 days.

My hsg was unusually painful, but I was fine after a few days. I still wouldn’t do it all at once, though. For me, it would be too much stress. I also wouldn’t bother with IUI without a trigger. My doctor had me try naturally for 3 cycles after the HSG. I wasn’t lucky, but plenty of women are!

baileyjosephine:  Hi. Let me first start off by saying that I had an HSG done a few months ago and I was terrified it would hurt but it wasnt bad for me at all!! I only had mild cramping. Less than when I have AF.  Also, My doc said HSG can flush out your tubes so some women who have had trouble comceiving can get pregnant soon after an HSG. I dont think it is too much in one cycle at all! HSG doesnt take long and neither does a IUI. I have had 2 natural iui with no success. I ovulate on my own but I havea  short surge so OPKs dont work on me well so I think it was unsuccessful due to poor timing. This cycle I am on monitored clomid and trigger shot. CUrently in 2ww waiting praying for BFP!! I think an unmonitored clomid cycle would be fine as long as OPK work for you.  But I oviously dont know your situation. If you have concerns I would ask your dcotor. You should feel comfortable if you are going to move forward with the IUI. I wish you the best of luck!!!
