I had my first RE appt today. It was very last minute due to another patient cancelling and I figured why not take the appointment. The RE did and ultrasound and recommended an HSG due to fibroids and light periods since my D&C. He said right now is the perfect time because it’s before I ovulate (he could see the dominant follicle and measured it). So I scheduled the HSG for tomorrow. However, now I am a bit worried as it seems like it’s too close to possible ovulation which I typically have anywhere from day 14-17. The RE mentioned no restrictions on BD before or after the HSG and in fact said it would be fine to BD this cycle. I was a bit overwhelmed and didn’t ask him whether or not the HSG would flush away the sperm that might already be in the Fallopian tubes from BDing the past few days or whether there is any concern I might O before the procedure. I plan to call tomorrow morning since it’s too late to call now but Kinda wondering if I should just cancel it and wait until next month and just TTC as normal this month. Anyone have any similar experience? Were you able to BD later that same day? Assuming the speed do get washed away, and I O the following day. I would only have a small window to BD.
I realize this isn’t a huge deal and I can just either cancel or just not TTC anymore this month, so not a huge issue in the grand scheme. Just curious if others have had similar experiences and have any advice. Thanks!
