DH lost his ring on our honeymoon!  Mind you, it was a few months after the wedding, but still!  I bought him a new one for his birthday — and I think it’s better than the original.

I’m mailing out my wedding ring today.  It’s a rose gold band off etsy that cracked, no idea why after only 2 months.  Oh I’m also mailing out one of my enagement rings, yeah I have more than one (we just had stones polished from the beach from the vacation where we were engaged and then mounted on a ring setting) because the stone fell off.  I think we’ll just go back to the church we were married at once we get the rings back and hope some mojo rubs off on them.

Is it tungsten? or tungsten carbide?

My husband has a tungsten ring as well. When we were at the jewelers last weekend he saw a matching bracelet that would go with his ring, so we were asking (again) about tungsten yadda yadda yadda… the very last thing she said to us was this “Tungsten has a major aversion to tile, DO NOT drop the ring on a tile floor. It will break. But in all other cases, the ring will literally sacrifice itself for your finger, it can take brute force but it’s achilles heel is tile floor.” Of all things, tile? Really? We haven’t had any problems with his ring except for the fact that he’s dropped 15 pounds since we’ve boughten it…he slipped it on his index finger today and I know you can’t resize them…just great!

I was just gonna ask if your officiant could bless the ring.  I think that would carry the same gravitas and be just as meaningful… with a funny story to boot.

Hope you are feeling better about it now!

Aw how sad, I would be upset too.  But, like others have said, it’s the sentiment behind the ring that counts, not the physical ring.

I didn’t know that about tungsten either!!!  Glad my accident prone hubbie has white gold lol.

that sucks!! but i think you should know, that at some point, most men have to have their rings replaced, weather they break, are lost, or get stolen…
