Christmas time I was so sure that I wanted a three stone. The total weight was 2 carats with a3/4 center stone. I was happy with it until, while shopping at the Valentines sale, I came across a solitaire 1.25. The solitair is beautiful and looks very clear yet last night after dinner and bringing up the ribg, he finally says the stone doesn’t look that big. Its about the same and “not much of an upgrade.
Which ring would you prefer? Here are pics of both.

Sorry about all those typos. For some reason my phone wont let me edit it.

It’s personal preference since they’re very different styles. The three stone is more blingy but I prefer solitaires and the size of the single stone looks perfect on your hand!

The 3 stone looks like an upgrade to the solitaire, not the other way around IMO

The 3 stone was a perfect choice In My Humble Opinion. I agree with your Fiance on this one.

Get the one you love more.. don’y just getting it because it “bigger” than your other ring. I love the solitaire 3 stone not so much but it’s a personal preference. Three stones are prob my least fav ring style, that may be why!

The three stone looks better to me. More sparkle and frosting!

I dont like 3 stone rings on myself, unless the two side stones are like sapphires or a different shape. I like the solitaire a lot. it’s timeless

Upgrades don’t have to be just about the dollar value or the biggest rock. It’s an upgrade to you if that’s what you want. Both rings are nice – it’s all about what you want and what you’ll be happy with for potentially the rest of your life (unless frequent updates are part of the plan).

I’m a fan of solitaires but I like to think that I consider what looks better on someone’s hand. For some reason the three-stone ring suits you better than the solitaire.
But really it is your taste that counts and not mine.

An upgrade doesn’t mean an upsize (more ctw) or upcharge (more $). We “upgraded” to smaller diamond ctw because we went from a double row of diamonds (that I had to wear as a RHR) to a single row of rubies and diamonds (that could stack with my w-band on my wedding finger); the upgrade was an e-ring that was better suited to our priorities and preferences.
Just my $0.02.

I prefer solitaire, so i like that one more, but it’s up to you and your preference. Both are lovely.

I prefer the solitaire. But it’s just that–a preference. A matter of taste. Get whichever one you like best–those are very different looks.

The one you want = The upgrade.
