Hubs has some cheaper rings also. The fancy one is his everyday ring and he only wears his cheap ones in the ocean or when he has to wear a silicon one for work (rare). But I can relate to the bees that mentioned the watches. DH has mentioned he wants a nice watch a few times…

DH’s was slightly over $800. I thought it was overpriced, but he was really happy with it, and it came with a great warranty/maintenance policy

Man, my FH’s ring was $39. I told him I would spend whatever on a ring, as long as he picked out one he liked. We looked at dozens upon dozens of rings, not even looking at the price, and he picked out a nice, wood and tungsten ring.

I had bought my DH (then FI) an engagement ring (he wanted to wear one too) made out of Georgia grown wood (cherry and black walnut) and brass. He’s super into mid-century stylings which incorporate wood and brass, plus we are from Georgia, so I thought it would be special. Its really durable because of how the designer infused strengthener into the wood instead of just putting it on the outside. The original plan was to get him a gold band when we got married, but DH liked it so much that he decided to just keep it as his wedding band. I don’t put any stock into how my set and his ring look together, because I feel like we should each have what we love instead of compromising to coordinate. It suits him really well plus was only $135 🙂
