What are you all packing? I haven’t thought about that yet… I always overpack but am hoping if I need anything (or just space from some family members) I can send someone out to get it lol

@Mrsluckywife:  I have a small wheeled suitcase, a camera bag, and another bag. I’m not even likely to stay overnight since we’re going with our midwives! LOL!

I have a change of clothes, PJs (just in case we have to stay overnight or if I want to wear something light), warm socks, nursing bras, clothes for the baby (including about 6 hats for photos, lol), receiving blankets, pads, a hooter hider (in case we have visitors and I’m nursing and not comfortable just letting it all hang out), lip balm, hair ties, etc… Still have to fit in there my snacks and juice boxes, flip flops, a tshirt and boxers for Darling Husband. Camera bag has two DSLRs, lenses, battery chargers. I don’t even know what’s in the other bag anymore, LOL!

My midwives gave me a “to pack” list that I followed pretty closely and added a few things from “What to expect” and recommendations from the ladies here.

I had WAY too much stuff at the hospital. It was a pain getting it all back out of there! I can’t really remember what I had that I didn’t need, but there was a lot. Mostly clothes and things for me. I came in wearing clothes, wore the gown for deliver, had a nursing nightgown I lived in for two days, and then went home in the same outfit I went to the hospital in. A cute going-home outfit was totally ridiculous, because I left the hospital and drove to the house. And while my clothes fit, they didn’t feel comfortable, I wanted baggy stuff so nothing was rubbing. I’d have probably gone with a dress if it was summer, but it was below freezing!

I packed a blanket because someone told me the hospital charges. I don’t think they did, but it was actually nice to have my own blanket. I’m not sure, I’d just remember that you have to figure out how to get it all back out, as well as all the stuff you “inherit” from the hospital or visitors. I know I’ll be bringing a lot less stuff for child #2.
