Fiance and I are planning a humanist wedding. Neither of us is religious at all, and we feel it is very hypocritical to have a religious wedding when we don’t follow it in everyday life. However, we don’t just want a civil ceremony, as we think these are very short and impersonal. So we’re going for humanist. That way, we get to include readings, songs, etc.
Just wondering Bees, is anyone else planning a humanist wedding, or attended one? What were they like? Did you like them? Thanks.

My husband & I created our own humanist wedding ceremony when we were married – saying the promises etc which we really meant was important to us. My website http://humanist.org.uk/hilaryleighter/ gives you more details.
I am now a humanist wedding celebrant myself, so please do ask me more detailed questions? You will see on the website I have also uploaded my free Wedding Planner spreadsheet of all the actions we did to make our wedding happen (for a London wedding, not Scotland), hope is helpful.

@Tabby1024: Hi Tabby, late reply but we’re in Edinburgh too and planning a humanist ceremony. Who did you end up going with?
