This makes me feel so much better! I got engaged in December and I have been debating having my ring resized. When I wear it down at the base of my finger near the palm, it slides around a lot…and if I push it up to my knuckle it pinches…but about halfway it feels just right. For some reason I thought I was supposed to wear it way down at the base where my finger gets really skinny. I’m afraid to size it down because I hate the feeling of a too-tight ring and I want to be able to get it on and off easily. If I wear it closer to the knuckle it feels just right.

I wear my ring as far back from my knuckle as possible because for me it is more comfortable there. I also think it moves less, because the rings pushe the thicker part of my skin forward in the process!

I push my ring as far down my finger as I can get it, it helps my paranoia that one day it’ll slip off (my fingers can swell and shrink something fierce within hours).

TheGridMonster:  It keeps squirming around cuz that’s the rock of Gibraltar on your finger girl!

leekissesme: Before I was married, my e-ring was closer to the base of my finger…I had a thick band so I couldn’t put it anywhere else lol!

Now it’s closer to my knuckle cuz I have my wedding band at the base now.

I’m actually glad someone posted this! Mine goes to the middle most times, i generally push it to my palm when i notice, I wasn’t sure if it was meant to move or not as I didn’t buy it/know my own size, my FH bought it. Wasn’t sure if i should have a smaller size but at same time felt that would be too tight! Feel a lot better about it now!

I think hands are just shaped differently. I kind of have a groove at the base of my finger right next to my palm, and that’s where my rings sit. They never move upward toward the knuckle. But other people have fingers that are more tapered than mine, so their rings wouldn’t sit at the base of the finger so easily. I even asked a similar question after seeing some photos on the Bee because I couldn’t understand how someone could comfortably wear their ring closer to the middle knuckle!

Mine is way back toward my hand … but that is pretty much necessary since it is a pear and I wear it with the pointy parts facing out and the diamond is big enough that the point almost reaches my knuckle. If that makes sense?

Okay after reading this thread, I pushed my ring up towards my knuckle and it fits and feels better!!! It’s a tad too big and pushing it higher up towards the knuckle keeps it from spinning as much. Thanks for showing me this is a normal way to also where my ring HAHA!! 😀

leekissesme:  I prefer mine closer to the base of my finger, but it tends to move toward my knuckle on its own. My knuckle is the biggest point on my finger, so once it gets past it, my ring is a little loose on my finger. This is my ring in my preferred position:

When I had just my Engagement Ring I wore i closer to my hand. Now I have a stack, so it covers pretty much the entire space between the two.

Can we add a poll?? I’m trying to count (for, um, science) and I can’t figure out who is winning! lol I am on the team closest to the base of my hand. Unless I’m having a fat finger day then who knows where it gets stuck.

mine sits right around here. I just let it wander wherever on my finger!
