jessicaxo11 : I just posted on another board about hurricane Matthew, but it sounds like this hurricane has been upgraded and expected to be worse than initially expected. The weather network posted dire warnings.
They are really stressing for those who live in evacuation areas to leave immediately.
All of my husbands family is in port st lucie/ft pierce and they are hunkered down…were so scared for them. We’re in northern GA so we don’t have much to worry about up here, but it’s still scary! Stay safe!!
Hey all, we are safe. It wasn’t bad at all and we slept through it. Not many trees down either just lots of branches. I am currently eating breakfast and will be on my way to work. They want us there by 10. Best. Company. Ever 😒
jessicaxo11 : Same here. We are still waiting for the gusts gusts here in Western Central Florida. My Fiance keeps walking around saying that Tom Terry was wrong. Still doesn’t get it. Be safe on the way to work and the rest of the day. To the Florida East Coast Bees: Be safe. We’re thinking about y’all. And, if y’all need anything, just let us kow.
bananafishsal : thank you !! Yeah I have a jeep so the winds were pulling it on the highway but I’m at work so all is well. And be safe ! I know some outer bands of winds might reach you so better to be safe than sorry 💕
My husband and I live in eastern Orlando so it just looked too bad to want to risk staying. We left yesterday at 1:30pm. We decided to leave Wednesday night late, called his dad in Port Charlotte (west side of state south of Tampa) and got everything ready during the day. We just told our employers we werent coming in because we were evacuating. They were both fine with it.
It took us until 6pm to reach his dads, normally a 2.5 hr drive. I-4 was a parking lot with accidents so luckily we were able to use street roads to wiggle our way out of Orlando, and west of the storm bands. It only rained on us a little bit which was nice.
I talked to our neighbor this morning. She is out of power and curfew is in effect which I guess means no driving except for emergencies. No flooding or much damage. Crazy.
Hope everyone stays safe!
