So just yesterday morning, I posted this:
And I said that I never had the baby itch until about a month ago (We just got married in September). I’m 32, so I said maybe 33 would be the year for us, figuring since we are older it might take us longer to concieve.
Because of that thread, I stopped at the store on the way home from work yesterday and bought an ovulation predictor, some test strips, and some cheap pregnancy tests. When I thought about when my last period started and when my current period should be starting, I realized that it should have started the day before.
So I ripped open one of the cheapie pregnancy tests and POAS sort of just for fun (my period tends to be a bit erratic at times).
But I had a BFP!!!!!! I peed on another one 2 hours later. BFP!!!!!!!
So….cross country move in June, new job in September, married in September, pregnant in November. And I’m 98% positive it happened during Hurricane Sandy, because neither of us could go to work all week and we were stuck together in the apartment for 6 days straight and we did it 6 times in 6 days.
So….looks like we’re going to be having a Hurricane Sandy baby!!!!

OMG. baby Sandy? hahaha…I don’t think so. But our families are going to be SHOCKED that this happened so fast, since up until marriage, I was always the “I’m not sure if I’ll ever want kids” girl.
CRAP! hahaha. I also said I wasn’t sure I would ever want to get married. So I guess I’m now 0-2. What else have I said I wouldn’t do….vote republican? Oh lord, maybe that’s next!!!!!!! jk
Incidentally, I thought I posted this in the TTC thread. (sad face)

Congrats on the baby!! So exciting!! What do POAS and BFP mean?
POAS = pee on a stick. and BFP = Big, Fat, Postive. I only know this from my one day of reading the pregnancy and TTC boards here, which was yesterday. I’m kinda flying by the seat of my pants here.
I just moved to this state and haven’t explored by new insureance at all yet, so I have no doctor, no hospital preferences, know nothing about pregnancy, and just started a new job. Fun! (not too worried about any of that though).
I guess when I do things, I do them…immediately!! heh.

Congrats!! I have a feeling you’re not the only one who will have a Sandy baby!! Only so much you can do when the power is out ;).

Also, to the other pregnant Bees and mommies. This is what I did this past weekend (since we weren’t actively TTC):
-drank alcohol (luckily, not excessively, but still more than is healthy) 2 1/2 glasses of wine at a party on Saturday.
-drank coffee every day, sometimes twice a day
-did not take any vitamins
-ate a bunch of junk food (my sister was in town with her family, so I took them to all the touristy things in NYC and we ate out every meal), ate very few vegetables
-worked out to excess on Saturday morning (to make up for the junk food)
-ate soft serve, lunch meat, AND sushi in the past week
Yup, looks like I’m off to a good start here! 😉 I’m just glad I know now so I can clean up my act.
