Atlantic city boardwalk is completely submerged. It’s a constant howl outside my window. our skylight kept failing to fight the wind so we tied stuff to keep it Closed. We’ve been fortunate with power somehow.
my 98 year old grandmother lives on the bay in Maryland. Her whole town is half underwater. She unwillingly evacuated.
Keeping my fingers crossed for the othe. Bees in our boat.
Stay safe, bees! Thinking of all of you!
I live in on the waterfront (across from downtown manhattan) and the streets are totally flooded. We can see a car from our window that is now COMPLETELY submerged now…..poor car. All the buildings in our neighborhood have no electricity but us (for now) because we have a generator in our building.however, the people in the unit next to us must have evacuated, and their balcony window either broke or somehow came open, and their blinds are flailing out into the wind and banging against the building like nobody’s business, so DH and I went downstairs to let them know (nothing has been done yet) And walked back up 29 flights of stairs to our floor, rather than take a chance in the elevator. I feel really sorry for the woman that lives there…am sure her entire apartment is ruined. =(
I’m all the way in Indy and the wind here is crazy. Can’t even imagine what it’s like for you guys on the east coast!
Stay safe everyone!!!
The lists of people without power has doubled in the last hour and the eye is on it’s way. Hoping we can keep power a little while longer, it’s been flickering.
My DH and DS have off work and school tomorrow so I am much happier than I was this morning. It’s been a loooong day though. Still not able to contact my family in OCMD.
DC check in. Some flooded streets, some downed trees, but it was all expected. There is power where I am, but there is also a generator too if that goes out.
safely tucked away in Astoria, Queens across the (closed) bridges from Manhattan. The blackout city pics are terrifying. Last I heard one million plus w/o power in NY, and the subway might be out for a week.
Stay safe lovelies!
I’m here in southern Ontario, and I can really feel the effects of Sandy. The wind gusts here are ridiculous, and its been pouring all night. Trees down, etc. Crazy how big this storm is. We’re expected to get a bit of it tomorrow night, but nothing compared to what NJ/NY/etc. are getting.
Please stay inside/safe for everyone who is in the direct path.
