@koi424: +1 I’m happy to hear that this strategy worked for you!!
OP, I have gotten flowers exactly four times in the three years that Fiance and I have been with each other. Despite the four thousand times I have told him how much I would love to receive flowers from him! The first two I incorporate for reference – but the last two were definitely obligation flowers…
The first time was a hand picked flower sitting on a note welcoming me and telling me to make myself at home (it was the first weekend I ever visited him). I swooned and thought – this one’s a keeper…
The second time was a hand picked flower from our yard because we were having a really tough time and I was super down about it. Granted, over a year had elapsed since the last, but, still thought maybe he might get it.
The third was last Valentine’s (requisite dozen red roses)- our second. Note, no flowers for our FIRST V-Day…
The fourth time was this past Valentine’s (requisite dozen red roses). Poor Fiance, this year they died within two days. I ended up bringing them back becasue. well, I wasn’t going to let him spend that kind of money only to have them die the next day!
And when those roses died last week, I went out and bought myself two bunches of carnations – which I love – and I decided that I am going to make it a priority to have fresh flowers in the house every week.
And you know what? Maybe he’ll eventually get it. And if, somehow, he doesn’t – at least I will be able to enjoy the flowers!
Go buy yourself some flowers!! Your favorites!
