@gramgeek:  I would hope his response to the “after work” meal is “no I usually have dinner with my wife :)”  lol. Women can be scandalous!!!

While I agree that women can be scandalous – I work in Global company and it is often protocal to find a mentor of higherstanding. Unfortunately, since the upper tier is 95% male we are forced to ask them for time on their schedules to discuss our future careers.

So, maybe there is a chance that not all of them are being dirty office whores?

  Yeah…it’s hard to judge without the connotation. One of my best friends at work happens to be a guy, and we will eat lunch together often because we have common interests and get along. We’re both happily married to our spouses. Also…if his job is deemed as an “attractive” one, maybe others want to try to get on his good side. I wouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet :-).

ETA: Just saw your response to a previous poster. So, she has no connection to him, whatsoever? Do you mind if I ask how their paths cross at work? I’m just trying to better understand the situation 🙂

@keepsmiling19:  +1 to this

My fiance’s in sales and women hit on him all the time… not because they’re interested but because they want to see if they can get a better deal. I can’t blame them, it worked for me! 😉

I didn’t think you were being judgemental – just was trying to see if there could be another iniative to their looking for time with him…

I hate having to make that first call finding a mentor.

And you said he is Junior…sometimes it works the other way, sometimes the upper tier will call on the lower tier and select someone to mentor. Again. just offering some differing perspectives 🙂
