I would have Darling Husband keep some space from your little one and be extra mindful with the hand washing etc for a day or so, I had to do the same thing since my Darling Husband started getting burned out helping me while returning to work. It was hard for him not to kiss hislittle girl but our pediatrician scared the heck outta us sharing what happens if a newborn gets a temp over 100.4 (hospital trip with all sorts of testing). Better safe than sorry for a few days 🙂

I asked the pediatrician at our 2 week appt if we should be doing anything (taking any extra precautions) because he’s so little and it’s cold and flu season. Her response: “He’s probably going to get a cold at some point this winter, and he’ll probably come through just fine. Most babies do, so don’t worry too much about it.” You can be contagious and show no symptoms, so Darling Husband may have already shared his cold germs with your LO before Darling Husband had his first sniffle. Anyway, I’d just call your doctor and go with whatever they have to say.

Are you breastfeeding? If so, your body naturally makes antibodies in your breastmilk to combat any virus you may come in contact with. So assuming you have had contact with your husband’s cold, then your body will put antibodies into your milk so that your baby is protected. Basically like a built-in vaccination!
