My husband and I found out I was pregnant 10 days before he deployed. He’ll be gone for 7(ish) months, but should, hopfully be back for the birth—if I’m not early and if he’s not late. Despite not being able to communicate much and him obviously not being here, he’s very involved and excited for our baby.
My emotions (i.e. out-of-control hormones) sometimes get the best of me and I miss him more than words can say, especially with pregnancy-related stuff, so I was wondering if any one else is in the same boat.
Is anyone else going through this pregnancy/birth without your husband/partner there?

I’m not going through this, but I want to tell you how sorry I am that your hubby will miss most of your pregnancy. His job is a difficult job to have and he is MUCH APPRECIATED!
Do you have any family or friends close to you? Maybe you can have your mom, sister, or best friend go to the appointments with you so you won’t be alone? I’m sure they would love to be included in the pregnancy and share those special moments with you. Also, maybe you could record your ultrasounds and take cute little pictures of the photos they give you at the ultrasounds and text/email them to your hubby? That way even though he is not here physically, those cute little text/email updates will keep him in the loop and updated.

@MARIE901: Heh…I forgot to mention that we’re stationed in Italy, so we’re very far from family. I do have friends here, but…you know…it’s just not the same. They are very accomodating on base, which is great, so they let me record the ultrasounds on my phone and then I can send them to him right away—he loves it!
