iamali:  I would be inclined to go for Green-Mountain because I love funny double barrelled but that is just me!

Smash them together and have Greenmountain? ๐Ÿ™‚

I spoke to a woman the other day and she was Miss John Baptiste (took me a while to work out that John was her surname, not her first name haha)

Does h2b have any preferences? ๐Ÿ™‚

iamali:  Not as far as I know! She wouldn’t tell me haha

I think it would be nice to use Green as a middle name, so that you can be the “Mountain family” etc.

My mum uses Smith (Step-Dad’s name) personally, but uses her previous married name (Jensen) at work because she feels it’s more professional due to them working together.

Are you definitely sure you want to incorporate his name with yours? There’s nothing wrong with keeping your name as it is if you’re both happy with it but I know lots of men feel strongly about you taking theirs in some way ๐Ÿ™‚

I think Green Mountain is cool! It’s to each their own isn’t it? I personally cannot WAIT to change my last name because it means something weird and dirty on Urban Dictionary lol

Edit: My current name means something weird – new name is good!

stephisaur:  Was it ‘Jean-Baptiste’ rather than ‘John’- it’s pronounced ‘John’? It’s quite a common French- double barrelled name, but isn’t the product of combining parents’ names rather comes from John the Baptist. Just in case it comes up ๐Ÿ™‚

penny2015:  Definitely John – I asked her to spell it! I worked it out in the end, I’m just more familar with the Jean-Baptiste spelling!

I love the “Green-Mountain” combination! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to change my name or not too, but hyphening was not an option for me lol! I already have 2 middle names, so my initials are DDED. I can’t be DDED-D lol its too long. My fiancés last name isn’t too far off from my current last name, so I just decided to change and have the last name of my son.

I tihnk you should keep your own name as it is. It’s a lovely name, and you’re not keen on Mountain anyway.
