My husband is a total health nut and eats the weirdest things. When I met him in college, he would bring this mixture to class: oats, tuna, mustard and salsa. What the heck? Who eats that?!
Right now he’s in the kitchen cooking liver. Seriously. He just came in to tell me how good it is. I told him I would just take his word for it.
Other weird things he eats: oatmeal with chicken; rice, beans, ground turkey, chicken, salsa and kimchee… all mixed together; chicken and peanut butter (which isn’t gross, but definitely a little odd)
Anyone else with me? Do you eat weird/interesting food?

My Fiance will eat anything and I mean ANYTHING. If its in our fidge he will eat it. He will also mix anything together. He doesn’t care if it expired or if it goes together. The other day me was mixing a can of tuna with just about all the condiments in the fridge.

I am a health nut too but I dont eat oats, tuna, mustard, salsa together. lol. My Sweety eats chicken feet, pigs blood, umm he eats a lot of food that I dont consider weird but I am not use to. I know other people eat these things too.

There is a jar of pickled turkey organs in my fridge, I actually never thought I would say that. I will not even touch the jar – it has a shelf of its own.

My Darling Husband isn’t a health nut, but he does weird things too. The other day we had some leftover taco meat in the fridge, but no lettuce. So, he made it with the meat, cheese, salsa and canned peas. Interesting…

Haha. Pickled turkey organs?! Canned peas in a taco?! Those are odd things too 🙂
I don’t feel so bad now!

I eat some pretty weird stuff. Oranges and apples mixed with tobasco sauce. Gold fish crackers, a hardboiled egg and tobasco sauce. pineapples with salt. I used to eat just straight up mayo if I didn’t have time to pack anything else (looking back on that, I could PUKE.) Cheetos with jalapeños. Sun chips with mustard. The list goes on. Fiance teases me that when I get pregnant I’m going to crave “normal food” 😀

My hubby eats pasta and ketchup. I’ve seen other people do that too, but it’s just so gross to me.

I just roasted some chicken to make chicken pot pie for dinner. I removed the crispy skin and the bones and left them on a plate while mixing up the filling. Well Fiance came into the kitchen and started eating the skin with PEANUT BUTTER! EWWW! He will find the strangest combos!

I love Frank’s red hot sauce, so I put that ish on just about anything lol But nothing out of the normal. My Fi on the other hand eats ANYTHING, and just like a PP mentioned about their Fi, he eats food even if its been in the fridge forever and/or if its expired (except Milk ofcourse). I get grossed out over old food and only eat left overs up to 1 day old. He will eat something as old as a week and not care.

FH is very finicky- allergic to potatoes, and doesn’t do well with soy or gluten- this is a very difficult combination! But he frequently eats gluten-free pasta with lots of butter. He says lots of people do this, but I don’t know anyone else who eats their pasta with butter.

@guitargirl: Ahhh…pasta & butter makes a tasty dish when there isn’t much in the house! Toss with a little parmesean cheese and you got a meal!
@katilinhudson: the fruits with tabasco sound yummy; I like the sweet/hot combination.
FH eats pretty run of the mill food, but I am amazed at how much he likes sweets. He can go to town on any type of sugary thing. Me on the otherhand, I get sick to my stomach if I have more than two cookies.

@guitargirl – LOVE pasta and butter. My whole family eats it.
Darling Husband is just complicated with his food. He used to be on the bigger side and he lost a lot of weight doing the low carb diet, so now he’ll do things like order 5 double cheeseburgers and take off the buns, or scrape off pizza toppings.
Father-In-Law, though, eats peanut butter and mayo sandwiches, or spreads it on tortillas, which is pretty much the grossest thing I can think of! He also waters down soda and juice, like half and half, which I just hate the taste of. But he’s a super buff older dude, so I guess whatever works!

I think the pasta and butter is a northern italian thing, by origin – above the climatic line beneath which it’s too hot for successful dairy farming.
My fella is a freak with his pizza – buy a frozen one. Deconstruct it: take all the pepperoni off, add a load of extra cheese, add chilli peppers, put the pepperoni back on, arranged evenly, with lots of salami on there as well. Savage, he is. And he has a weird thing about salty vs sweet – appara I ruined Snickers bars for him: get this: I said I though the slightly salty peanutty thing was the best thing about snickers. He was horrified. He’d never made the salty/peanut connection.
And in his house they drink the water you cook cabbage in. Ick.
@Smashley: liver? *shudder* yuck yuck yuck.
@tksjewelry: that’s pretty bad alright! Ugh!
We once shared a house with a french guy who brought loads of his fave delicacies back with him after Christmas (college) hols. I know they’re considered delicacies etc, but I really did not like having to root around in a fridge full of Foie Gras and frog’s legs and seriously stinky cheese…

My fiance’ likes to crumble chips (corn or potato) on top of his canned tuna, then sprinkle with a little Tabasco sauce. I thought it was gross at first, then one day I took a bite and it wasn’t bad. I prefer Baked Sour Cream & Cheddar chips or Doritos Red on my tuna
