So my wedding is down south and I have never looked at hydrangeas close up so I am hoping someone can confirm some info for me. My bridesmaids are having white hydrangeas and my Maid/Matron of Honor is having green and white, while I too am having green and white as well as cream roses.
The wedding planner is advising that ONE hydrangea PER bridesmaid is sufficient, is that true? My Maid/Matron of Honor is having one white and one green, to have her stand out but I am surprised to hear that ONE is sufficient?
Can someone confirm this, I dont want dinky looking bouquets and pics like this online make my believe that there should be at least 2/bouquet…

I’ve seen some giant hydrangea blooms and on a more petite person, it could be a cute nosegay size bouquet. However, I like them big and fluffy, so I agree with you that one seems a little small. I prefer groupings in odd numbers, so I would probably go with 3+ (with average size hydrangeas).

@dominicanbride16: The pic that you have show WAY more than 2! I think 2-3 for the bridesmaids will be okay.
I had 3-4 of them in mine and it was big enough for me. I personally do not like big bouquets for myself or the bridesmaids.

I have several hydrangea bushes and I have seen some hefty hydrangea blooms but personally, I would not think one bloom would be enough.

Unless your florist has some mega huge hydranga blossoms I would have to agree with the pp’s and say you would need 2-4 to create the look in the pic.

i love the look of hydraneas in the bouquets. i dont think one stem will be enough. i would do min. 3 stems.

Yeah, we used to have those in my front yard. Mom hated them. They’re big, but not big enough to only need one for a whole bouquet. I think 3 would be about right.

I would also think you need at least 2-3 stems to create a look like your picture. I also thought they were only available in spring/summer time
