So I am a Senior music major. My recital is in 1 week and 6 days….and barely 12 hours ago, I discovered that the venue in which I am supposed to hold this glorious event was double-booked!!! Hence, the hyperventilation…as if I am not stressed ENOUGH. Apparently, there was a huge oversight, and someone allowed someone else to book their event on the same date, time, and place as my recital. Now mind you, this place was reserved for my recital A YEAR AGO. This other event didn’t even come into the picture until last semester. I was just learning to accept the fact that someone allowed for an Art Exhibit and Reception to be booked on the same night in the lobby, where my Reception will be. I decided to pick my battles on that one–it’s a big lobby, surely we can share. But this is UNACCEPTABLE. I know that some solution will come about, but the point is: THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE EVEN HAPPENED, AND I AM BEYOND UPSET ABOUT IT. I know, mistakes happen, but seriously. I am feeling a bit like Emma and Liv on Bride Wars. For realz. Except picture how that plot woulda went down had they found out the Plaza had been double-booked two weeks before their weddings. GRRRRRRR. Even more irritating is the fact that this all just came out the day before Spring Break, after almost everyone who has the power to fix this problem are no longer in their offices! There are two faculty members working to get ahold of people, but I get to sit here helpless for the next week as some solution is worked towards.
Why can nothing go right? I am about to go Recitalzilla on some people!
Thanks for letting me vent.
