How about some spectacular uplighting and a few vases of flowers in the windows?

Well, we did a PVC pipe frame http://www.instructables.com/id/PVC-stage-backdrop-or-room-divider/

and then we took white gossmer (or actually it was an aisle runner), and had it uplit. If you can’t do uplighting you could string lights under it and pick out purple or liliac colored fabric.

Hard to find examples from out wedding but I did get these:

Adding to the ceiling the most I can think of is stringing lights or something, but you have to ask your venue what you can use first. We did uplighting because we couldn’t do nails, tacks, or putty of any kind so we were pretty limited. I think if you did enough on the tables you wouldn’t need to reaqlly decorate the ceiling.

Also, if you can post a pic of your venue please 🙂

We had high ceilings, so we hung paper lanterns of various sizes over the dance floor at different heights.

@Mz Izzie:  It might help us more to get a visual if you post poics of the areas you are looking to decorate! Can you post pics?

@Mz Izzie:

You could hang lanterns at varying heights which will help bring down the height of the ceilings……kinda like this

Maybe something like this for the windows…..a large panel pulled back on each side

  • Wedding: April 2013 - ceremony at a gazebo outside, reception at neighboring restaurant on a lake

 Ceilings that high I don’t think need anything hanging.

The poms would be pretty cheap to do.

I’m sorry, I spent a while looking online, but I like very rustic outdoors stuff and can’t find any other ideas for the inside.   =(

@Mz Izzie:  If you want a cheap backdrop get some cheap sheers from Ike’s. We got ours for $4.99/pair. We then used string and attached them to magnetic hooks. Still don’t have pro pics back, but it worked and looked nice.
