@carriejuly:  It’s probably a fluke, but maybe postglandins (spelling?) in the semen caused the cramps and the cramping pushed your period earlier.  If you’re concerned, you should see your physician or nurse practitioner.

Have you ever had your period come early before while on BCP? Maybe it is the type you are on, but in my experience with BCP, getting your period early isn’t really a possibility unless you miss/skip some pills, you’re taking some other medication that interferes, or something else is up.

How bad are the cramps?

Aside from being shorter, was your period different in any other way? Ie., brown, or light pink?

@carriejuly: Yeah, that would probably make me nervous too. I’d say if you keep having the cramps and feeling sick, you should call your doctor. My office has a nurses line so you can talk to a nurse and ask a question without actually having to go into the office. Or if they think you need to come in, they will tell you. Maybe yours does too. Good luck!
