“Too big” really comes down to personal taste! So it is all about how you feel. Personally, I prefer something smaller but I would never assume to push my tastes on you. I think you should just live with it for a few days and see how you feel, and if you are still feeling iffy, try going back to the store and comparing it with some other cuts and sizes. It is definitely a gorgeous piece!

@saraviawedding: What about a different setting? One that doesn’t make the center diamond sit so high?

i’d be curious to see your entire hand.

i know this is a touchy subject for everyone- but i’m just giving my personal opinion.

i think from the top it looks big, but not obnoxiously so. (though i wouldn’t want one that big)

and from the side i think its way too high profile. if i were you id get a setting where the stone sits a bit lower.

ETA: i personally prefer halos where the halo part is flush with the top of the center stone.

I wouldn’t like a stone that big, honestly. Ppl would assume its fake. I think I would like it much better with a regular diamond. The blue draws attention to the size. That said it is a gorgeous ring and you picked it for a reason! What I like has nothing to do with your preferences (: give yourself time to get used to it. I reset my diamond and it took me a bit to get used to it on my hand.

A few thoughts:

1. I think it can take a few days to “adjust” to the way the ring looks on your hand. Do you have time to think this through and wait about a week before returning? If so, you may find your mind will change and you fall in love with it.

2. For me, that ring would sit too high, because I’m clumsy and would be constantly knocking it into everything. But that’s JUST ME, and you may be possessed of more grace/bodily awareness (LOL).

3. I don’t think there’s an objective status of “too big” or “too gaudy.” The way you carry yourself, and your comfort with the ring ( and, to some extent, how you dress), will determine whether or not others look at that ring and think, “It looks lovely on her” or “It looks gaudy/too big.” That said, who cares what judgments others pass on your ring, anyway? What matters is, are YOU happy with it? (And now we’re back to Point #1 again!)

@saraviawedding:  That ring does not strike me as “simple”. I like it, but if you were going for simple…I think you maybe missed the mark. It is beautiful though.

I think it’s gorgeous.  It’s hard to tell if it’s “too big” because we can’t see your entire hand.  The first pic does look a little big but the other ones look fine.

Either way, beautiful  ring.  Care to post more pics or the stats?  What is the size of the center stone?

I don’t think the stone is too big at all! But it does stick up a little too high for my taste. I feel like it would get in the way, but I’m pretty destructive lol. As long as it doesn’t get in the way I don’t think it’s bad, because it certainly doesn’t *look* too big. If you do decide on a different ring, I would keep your center stone because its gorgeous, but maybe choose a setting that sits a little lower.

It honestly doesn’t look too big to me. I think its beautiful actually. I was expecting to see something massive but its not. What is too big for one may not be for another…..but to answer your question it does not look gaudy. If you aren’t happy could you return it?

@LilliePad:  + 1 looking at it I thought it sat up a little too high as well. Something about that is throwing me a bit I think
