Yes, I knew. (:

I picked my ring, he picked his, and we decided on the date together! He still managed to surprise me, but there were very few instances where he would have done it that day: lunch, dinner, or after dinner. He promised it wouldn’t be at dinner, so I held my breath for lunch, though I was quite sure it wouldn’t be. (I hoped it wasn’t, since I wanted to propose first! Time betwen lunch and dinner was my proposal to him.)

I loved it. We had a beautiful day together, and just knowing that it was a special day we’d look back on made me appreciate all the time we spent together so much more.

I don’t “know” when it will be, but I have a suspicion. He has promised me it would happen before my next birthday (March 2017), but I have a feeling it will be on my birthday because it is my 30th and he says he has something special planned for it (I really didn’t want any type of attention drawn to my 30th, so he may be doing this to distract me from it).

He says he has the whole thing planned out, so I will not be a happy camper if my birthday passes with no proposal. 🙁

I had zero idea, and I’m glad. He did everything himself; the planning, the ring, everything. I would have been sad if I’d known. It meant a ton to me that he did this all himself. And I didn’t ‘get’ it, until he asked the question.

I recently found out he has the ring so the proposal will either be on our “skype” anniversary this weekend or next month when we met in person… or it could be a random day because he wants it to be a surprise. Either way, I’m so excited haha my face has been like this 😀 for the past week.

anonp:  How was your weekend, OP? You seemed pretty sure he would pop the question this weekend. Hope all is well!

I also want to know how was it going? honestly my boyfriend has the ring for about 5 months now. I am still waiting. He told my parents that we would marry in about July but even no proposal happens.

I was wondering if anonp’s partner perhaps didn’t follow through on his promise. Anonp has mentioned before that he missed deadlines last December and last spring. Regardless, I’m confident that anonp will update us when she feels ready 🙂

My proposal was a complete surprise, my fiancee, my parents and my future in laws planned an engagement party with 560 people, all my fiancee told me was to get my hair done and my make up done. We were going to pick up a dress and then we were going to a formal dinner with his boss. Best surprise ever

cc5598 :  I don’t think anyone is talking about being surprised by the actual fact of the engagement in terms of, “I can’t believe you proposed. We’ve never talked about marriage.” The surprise part is simply in the details and the exact timing. And yes, I would like to be “surprised” for that part.
