Every relationship is different, it’s all based on what works for you guys.  It’s a big decision to walk away from someone you love and I’m glad you thought it through first. Good luck to you!

why would you give your boyfriend a deadline for a marriage proposal? that sounds like a good way to scare a guy away. the desire to propose to your significant other comes whe it feels right, you can’t force it.

That’s very sweet. I definitely think that may be necessary given your situation. Everyone is different. And it says a lot when a woman is willing to adjust her internal timeline. My was at the end of 2010. We didn’t get engaged and then two days before the new year he looses his job. I guess I didn’t want to kick him while he was down. And although he still didn’t make the deadline and two days wouldn’t have made much difference I love him that much. So now it’s May almost June and I’m still here. WAITING. Hoping and praying that we’re engaged before our 4 yr anniversary in August because that’s my final straw. I think he kind of feels it. He stated around easter that I wouldn’t have to wait another four months. Which makes August the end anyway.  Mine is just a little closer than his 🙂

Hopes your proposal comes soon. You don’t have much longer to go. **fingers crossed**

Sounds like a good idea to give him some more time. He sounds serious enough about wanting to propose, so just let him do his thing 🙂
