@leecy87:  Lol I’m starting to cave on my “no themes” rule too, so I may be adding that one shortly.

The big one for me is I always thought I’d have a formal plated dinner because that’s what everyone else in my family has done.  And then I saw the catering prices for a plated dinner and started looking into other options.  We’re doing a backyard reception, so a buffet will work out better for us and I’m totally happy with the decision.

I always thought I would put my foot down about not having a shower and now I’m fairly open to it.

I didnt think I would have a theme. But we have a very ‘light’ theme – we’re not all in and over the top. Not yet anyway, haha.

@leecy87:  I always thought I’d elope, just us. But I feel in love with a father and we wanted his kids to be involved. So now it will be us, the kids, our parents and siblings. Still small

@bleusteel:

I was a catering Chef for The Biltmore Estate for four years, trust me when I say buffet is the better choice. Sure plated formal dinners always look fancy but the restriction to the chefs when catering that kind of meal makes the food less than what it could be. It is unfortunate but true that in a plated dinner situation the visual takes precedence over the taste. Good tasty food is on the top of the list for keeping your guests happy, trust me a really good buffet will achieve this far better than a slab of meat on whipped potatoe and a few veggies!

@adoc86:

Instead of theme I use the work inspiration…our wedding was inspired by..

Theme just makes me think of a highschool promSmile

I always thought I’d marry a younger guy (or maybe my exact same age). Nope! He’s 4 years older.

@leecy87:  I know… I just tended to date younger guys. And you know how everyone’s shallow about something when they consider who to date? My shallowness was about looks rather than wallet size…so, you know…youth and looks are often correlated. Not always though…my Fiance is definitely a hottie, IMO! 🙂

I thought I’d wear my hair up, but I didn’t. I was going for the sexy look.

I thought I’d get wraps, but my natural nails were a perfect length.

I thought I’d take a 10-day honeymoon, but my husband couldn’t take more than a week off of work.
