- Wedding: November 2011
As the title states, my Fiance and I (he’s hindu, I’m christian-raised, non-religious-now) are having a weekend of wedding festivities. We’re having a hindu cereremony followed by dinner on a Friday and a typical american ceremony, followed by dinner and dancing on Saturday. I’m planning this all remotely now (oh, joy!), without a planner for budget reasons (what fun!) and sometimes I think we’re crazy…although mostly I’ve been having a lot of fun DIYing things and planning. It’s just a teensy stressful having to do everything twice: design and make programs twice. Design and make escort cards twice. Design and make/hire centerpieces twice. Find caterers for different types of food twice. And the list goes on…..
And sometimes I realllllly want to share everything I’ve done or made or bought, but I also want things to be a suprise, so I’m keeping mum to my friends/family. Which is hard. My fiance is a champ, and pretends to listen when I wax on about different papers for programs and the plusses and minuses of each type, but I’m really burstin to tell/show someone ELSE about the details and how it’s all coming together. Of course, I still have a lot to do. Without further ado….the pics!
Our invites (didn’t blank out the address, because we don’t live there any more..haha):
My first Saree on the first night (not the right blouse, because it’s being made for me right now):
Second Saree (it’s tradition to change during the ceremony, and again, I put this on sloppily and it’s not the right blouse):
Bridesmaid sarees first night:
Escort cards first night (this is just a sample):
Wedding program first night (vellum over red and gold mums paper):
Back of wedding program:
Wedding dress second night:
Reception dress second night:
This guy (work in progress….obvi not finished):
Our Mandap (pic from company we hired to do it):
We’re having dark red pintuck tableclothes, matching chair ties, and ivory napkin to match our chairs. One the first night, we’re having short flower centerpieces, and the second night we’re having gold manzanita tree centerpieces.
I know there are a million pictures, but I just HAD to share with someone! I still have to make programs and escord cards for the second night, and table numbers for both nights. sighhhhh. I never in my life thought I’d be planning essentially 2 different weddings, on consecutive nights. 5 week coundown!!
