I’m a geotechnical engineer in the US, and I can vouch that your methods are the same used here, and they are ABSOLUTLY accurate, despite what previous posters claim. I work at a mine, and we are held to strict environmental standards (and deal with pipelines too). If we have a leak of mine-impacted water we have to scrape every bit of contaminated soil up and have it disposed offsite through companies like Safe Harbor. We have to do soil tests at a state sanctioned lab, and have to keep removing soil until the tests come back in the clear.
To answer the OP’s question….nope, not bothered at all by the pipeline.
I am, however, furious at the so called environmentalists who trashed the place up.
