    I would either ask them to step down and replace them or ask them to step down and just not have 4. You have already given them plenty of time, and they aren’t willing to be responsible.

    I think this warrants a heart to heart with each of them.  Explain that you need to know that they are fully committed to being in the wedding, and that this requires that they purchase their dresses.  I would also try to find out what the reason is for the delay.  If they are unable or unwilling to make the commitment of time and money that being a bridesmaid requires, they need to be honest with you so that you can move on and find replacements.

    I personally took my BMs to the salon to try on the dresses and had them order them at that same time. That way I didn’t have to worry about this situation.

    My wedding is in the middle of August and not all BMs have their dresses. My thinking: if they don’t have them, oh well. I choose them because I love them, not because they’re in a specific dress.
