… a 7 night Caribbean cruise!!!! Celebrity Cruise Lines!!!
We are departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then going to the following:
- Bridgetown, Barbados
- Castries, St. Lucia
- St. Johns, Antigua
- Philipsburg, St. Maarten
- Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
then back to Puerto Rico. We are going Nov 1-8, 2014!
My high school class trip was a cruise to the Bahamas, but that was 10 years ago, I don’t really remember anything much except that it was fun.
Question for bees that cruise:
- How formal is formal night?
- What excursions do you recommend at these locations?
- What did you forget to pack/recommend?
- What did you not need to bring that you thought you did?
- Any other tips?

@chic_and_fabulous: best advice I can give is to make sure he can actually be there! Have you check his work schedule (if he works) to see if he will be able to go?

@Payless: I already broke down and told him of his present, yes, he can go :). He’s in upper management of the Casino business and that is during his slow season.

@chic_and_fabulous: Every cruise line and every cruise itinerary is different when it comes to fomal nights. Check out the forums on Cruise Critic for lots of good information and the answers to your questions.

@chic_and_fabulous: Lol, well then it is awesome to have it all settled! I am super jealous and wish I had gifted myself, I mean, Darling Husband something that nice 😉

@Payless: LOL! You completely understand the ‘Christmas gift to him’ … but kind of to myself too 🙂 lol.
I was sitting on his lap, completely esctatic, and he nearly hit the ceiling with joy when he found out where we are going!
I made him try and guess for 20 minutes what his present was.
We live in the mountains near a ski resort, so ‘warmth, sun, and beach’ is a huge treat for us.

Awesome. Glad your SO likes it. I’m cruising with girlfriends next year because my husband hates the idea of going on a cruise.

@chic_and_fabulous: I’ve been on a caribbean cruise. Formal night is pretty much no jeans, no t-shirts. I wore a nice dress and heels. Guys wore ties and dress pants.
I never pack nail clippers because I think I won’t need them but then I always end up breaking a nail. So pack a nail file instead so it can be in your carry on. Remember a bathing suit! Extra socks, in case they get wet.
The food is awesome! Try to space out meals so you don’t eat right before the sit down meal.

@Pixienickie: thank you for this! I would have never thought to pack nail clippers. Added to the list, even though it’s so far away!

@chic_and_fabulous: We had a similar itinerary on a cruise a few years back & it was awesome! You’re going to have so much fun. Do the Power Snorkeling in St. Maarten (or whatever they call it–it’s the one with the little rocket looking things that pull you around) because it is SO much fun. We saw so many sea turtles & it was fun to zip around quickly.

@BagsnBooks: oh my gosh! Thank you for this tip!
I am in love with sea turtles; in fact, my sister donated money to the sea turtle hospital in Miami in lieu of wedding favors at her wedding. 🙂
