My Fi is a lovely lovely man who has decided that he wants to propose every year. But I hardly wear either of my first two rings as the moment. I don’t really want him to spend the money on new rings when I’m not even wearing them.
I started blistering under my first engagement ring last summer when we went to Asia. Then he had my grandmother’s stone (the engagement ring she got for my mother) reset. Love love love the ring – but then after a while, I started blistering again. I don’t think it’s a metal allergy (white gold) because before we had the ring reset, I wore it on my right hand for 5/6 years and I was totally fine. For a while, we thought it might be moisture getting trapped under the ring, since the pave/side diamond setting makes it hollow underneath. It was just a solitaire setting originally, but! I did wear a second band in front of it so I feel like moisture should have gotten trapped between the two rings and caused blisters as well (which it didn’t).
Anyone else have this happen where the ring blisters on one hand, but not the other? Any advice? (I’m kind of thinking that maybe I’ll just go back to wearing my rings on the right hand, but now that’s it’s been reset, it feels like it belongs on my left hand – or I’ve just been accustomed to wearing it on the left hand)
Here are the rings: (Sorry about the giant pic size!)
This is the new setting, and the empty setting in the back is the old setting I used to wear.
This is the first ring he proposed with =)
