I am hiring a wedding planner/DOC for the last 43 days of planning.. because if I don’t my brain will explode. Also, she is only $500! She is starting her own business and getting away from the company she has worked with for years. We will be her first wedding on her own. I am pretty excited because she has actually been doing this for 10 years but just got her degree so she is starting her own business. In this area, we couldn’t find a DOC for less that $1000 for 6 hours. We get her for $500 from now until the day after the wedding. And on the day of she is there from load in to load out no matter how long it takes. YAY! At first I was mad at myself for caving but now that the weight is being lifted off my shoulders I couldn’t be happier. We meet with her Saturday to go over everything and how this will all work.

Yay for you!! I don’t have one and I have plenty of time to go…BUT if I keep feeling like I do I think I may need to cave as well. I’m really NOT a fan of this planning at all. Its been really stressful on me!! I’m happy you found a great deal as well! YAY for saving money!!!!! 🙂

I’m jealous! Sounds like a great deal…great experience, but a entry level fee!

let us know how it goes and if it’s “worth it” (although it sounds like it already is with how excited you are!!

That’ awesome!!! You’ll find it will help you sooooooooo much!
I wish I had the same… that’s the trouble when you ARE the DOC in the area. You don’t really have anyone else to hire, ya know? 🙂

I hired a DOC and I couldn’t be happier! I am so relaxed about that day because I know someone is there just to make sure everything goes smoothly!

You won’t regret it! We hired our DOC for FREE off of WB. Like yours, she’s branching out on her own so she’s doing a handful of free weddings to build her portfolio. A DOC wasn’t in our budget so I’m pretty thrilled to have scored one for free.
