The title of my post is all I’ve been saying while on the phone with my mother for the past 5 minutes. I’m like ‘girl interupted’ right now. This may come off at vain, but I’m sorry. I called the salon that will be doing my hair/make-up, just to add a girl to the list of people getting stuff done the day of the wedding… Um, my stylist has been in a car accident and won’t be available, but they’ll put ‘someone’ on the wedding. Ah! I didn’t say much except, “Omg, I hope she’s alright!”. But when I hung up the phone and processed it all, I was like, “Wait! I just spent $225 on a trial with this girl, and now they want me to go site unseen with some other person?”… which is when I called my Mommy, to talk me off the ledge. She basically said, “Dummy, this is your wedding day, you’re allowed to speak up, call them back and make them make it right”. I can do that, right? I should ask for a new trial (which is still stressful because I don’t live in town so it won’t be until the week of the wedding). Except I don’t wanna sound like a diva or worse… a bridezilla… I’m so LAME…

I would totally try to get in for another trial! If nothing else just to meet the new girl and that will help you to relax and feel less stressed right now. And no you would not be a diva, bridezilla, or anything worse. It was definately unfortunate what happened to your stylist(hope that she is okay!) and they should be understanding that this is not a normal situation and try to help you out! Hope all works out for you!

I don’t think it’s lame at all to request a free trial with the new stylist since your old stylist is unavailable (hope she’s ok) you already paid a boat load for a trial that now doesn’t matter at all. They should at least discount it to like $30! And ‘someone’ won’t do…I would want a name and trial before the wedding, if they give you crap about it then check other places in the area maybe?

Call them back and ask for a new trail (free of charge – you already paid for one that is now meaningless at no fault to you). And don’t stress too much about the timing of the second trial – I’m not meeting my stylist until the day before the wedding!

You won’t be a diva by doing this, it’s basic customer service. Yep it sucks that she was in an accident, but they will have insurance and leeway in their margins to cover things like their clients needing do-overs, it’s part of life and any good business will have coverage. Call back and stand your ground.

I’d absolutely ask for a new trial. It’s better to be a little pushy now than be disappointed with your look on your wedding day!
P.S. I hope your original stylist is okay!

Definately call back and ask for a free hair trial with the new stylist. Explain that your previous hair trial was with the other stylist so you need a new one. If they say you should pay, say that you already spent money with the other stylist and this isn’t your fault. I would be super nice about it and I bet they’ll set you up with another appt. asap. 🙂

Definately get another trial. You went through the trouble to have a trial in the first place for a reason, so of course you should get one with the new stylist! I agree that they should give you a free / heavily discounted trial. I’d call back, say you were so upset about your stylists accident that you didn’t even think through logistics, and of course you’ll need a trial with the new person before the wedding. If they try to charge you just explain that you already spent your budget on the last stylist, and you really don’t feel you should have to pay full price again. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I did what you said, I called back and asked for a new trial. She was really sweet and accomodating. The new trial is for the 15th, so I’m gonna remain in freak out mode for the next couple weeks, but at least I can get an idea of what to expect on my wedding day. And she said the charge is free, but of course I’ll still give the stylist something. I hope this person does just as nice a job!
I really do hope my original stylist recovers quickly, she must be in tons of pain. I really liked her. And she’s got 2 small children who need her to be able to run around with them!
