Have you looked into having your dress altered to have the bottom hug your figure more? The dresses look very similar and it may be possible to convert your dress into a semi-mermaid.

@S0InL0v3:  I have been LOVING that BHLDN dress too!  If you can’t get it out of your mind I would order it.  You can send it back.  You might not like it on, in that case you’ll have ruled it out & be happy with the dress you have.  Or you could LOVE it & sell the one you have now, maybe taking a small loss but worth it if in your budget.

A good seamstress may be able to change your current dress into a mermaid, tighther fit dress.

I think your current dress is gorgeous. But if you really love the other one, I’d go ahead and order it. It seems the BHLDN dress is not only different in shape, but a totally different fabric; your first dress is very romantic, whereas the second one is more of a simplistic chic look. So even if you have your current dress altered, it still might be very different from the BHLDN look. No harm in trying the second one on; you can always return it or sell the first one.

I totally agree with PP, take it to a great seamstress and see what they can do! I had mine changed from a modified sweetheart to a true sweetheart and it was great!

Your dress is georgous! And I’m not just saying that..I really love it …it look so elegant. But what’s important is how you feel about it…if you don’t love it ..get the one you do love. That’s what I did…had major dress regret…got another dress that I now love. Good luck!

i did that with the Dakota and it worked out great because it ended up looking really strange on me.

I agree with those saying to find a local seamstress that would be able to sinch in the dress into a mermaid style, or as suggested find the dress through an online retailer that accepts returns and try it on. My current dress is the second one I’ve purchased, it’s okay to change your mind if it’s not in your heart. You can always sell this one online if you end up not wearing it.

I think that dress is beautiful on you and the lace is so pretty. I think you should maybe alter it to fit you more in the hip. You have a great figure so it would be beautiful if it hugged you more. Either way, I think it looks great on you!

Plus, you have the satisfaction of knowing you already tried on the dress. Just have it altered and make it one of a kind!

@S0InL0v3:  if the second dress is from BHLDN you can definitely return it. I couldn’t go to the store so I ordered a bunch and tried them on at my house. You can definitely get your dress to have more of the look of the second. You look beautiful in it!

Just a tip about ordering from BHLDN if you call the store directly they waive all the extra fees that are applied when you order online.
