@Evie19: big big hug from me! I hope things will get better. It is always the last moment where it feels the hardest. I know you can do it. It will be hard but you have enough strength in you to go forward and get it all ready for the big day. Take a deep breath and remember that at the end of the day, you’d be married to a man whom you love and who loves you very much. The other things don’t matter as much πŸ™‚

@Evie19: πŸ™‚ my boyfriend/fiance (still feels weird calling him that since we just got engaged!) is like that! I am a lil bit anal about planning so i would get my christmas shopping ready in like october. I would remind him and he would say he’s on it but come two days before christmas and he would beg me to do his shopping for him!!! I really dont mind but i just dont like the fact that because of this, we usually end up spending more money because he’d leave things at the last minute.

I hope things will fall into place for you! It is stressful. I just started planning our wedding and am freaking out about how much everything is gonna cost us πŸ™

@Evie19: Sending thoughts and hugs your way! I have a feeling that my Fiance would probably be the same as yours…I would have to bug him to get stuff done. I haven’t quite reached this stage of panic yet, I’ve got about 8 months to go.

All these trials will pass and when your wedding day comes, I hope you will feel all the love and get all the blessings you two deserve!

I’m sorry it’s all piling up.  A wedding is huge event and it’s totally natural that things get hectic at the end.  If it makes you feel any better, I get that frazzled feeling when I start reading the timeline for the last couple weeks before the wedding.  i’m still 6 months out and just seeing the to-do items on a screen makes me panic.  One thing i wanted to say – I was at coffee with my mom and her lady friends the other day and they were all chatting and asking me details about wedding planning (they are all around 50), and one of them said something to me that really hit home.  She said “make sure the day of the wedding you slow down as much as possible and try to enjoy it.  You will have spent a whole year planning this event, all these details and research and money and the day will just zip by and you’ll think to yourself ‘was that it?  All this planning for just those few hours?’  Make sure you don’t let the day pass you by”.  We work so hard on putting this big day together, and people don’t realize howwwwww much planning goes into that one 8 or 9 hour day, but I think brides sometimes also forget that all of the planning is for a purpose and it shouldn’t get in the way of your ultimate happiness.  Best wishes to you.  In just three weeks you’ll be a wife!!  Good luck with the last minute details, but also, try to savor this time.

@szaerpoor: That is very sound advice, one that I hear from a lot of other people as well. They’ve even told me to enjoy the planning aspect of the wedding because time will just fly by and pretty soon it will all be over!

@Evie19: LoL I’ll try my best to stay on top of things when it comes to him!

@Evie19: coz they’re men? lol

We haven’t really decided on a budget or who is paying for what since we live 12000 miles apart and would have to include his flight tickets and accommodation when he’s here with me. I usually take care of that and he pays (i plan and use his card to pay for them) so we always end up getting the best deals which is great! He loves this arrangement coz he hates planning and perusing the net but I love finding a great deal and dont mind it. Though sometimes we argue coz he can be stubborn or have criterias which make my search more difficult (ie cheap flight with short layovers) or something like that. But in the end, we always combine our strengths and end up making both of us happy.
